Some backfill, about 4 to 6 inches, is required in order to keep sand from coming out from under the pool wall. Any additional backfill is dependent upon how far out of level the pool site was and partially on the customer’s preferences.

It should be noted that backfill can be placed up to 30″ in depth against the pool wall, but that is the maximum. If less can be placed against the wall, it is advisable. Any excavation deeper that 30″ requires a retaining wall to be built to prevent excessive dirt from collapsing the pool wall. This does not mean that if the backfill is under 30″ it is impossible for the dirt to collapse the wall. 30″ of rain soaked soil and clay can, under certain circumstances, like the pool being empty, push a wall in. This amount is simply where we draw the line and estimate reasonable safety against wall damage. Family Leisure, under no circumstances, is ever responsible for backfill damaging a pool wall.

If the customer is comfortable with the amount of backfill they are placing around the pool, there are only three rules to be followed.

The pool must be full of water before beginning backfilling.

Do not allow large rocks to be pushed up against the pool wall. This could severely damage the wall.

Slowly and gently place the dirt back around the pool to not push the wall out of the track or move the positive drain.

Dirt that is removed during excavation of a pool site and later placed back around the pool against the wall is referred to as backfill.

[2,3

post-617","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pool","category-pool-installation
["GET
