If you have a sand filter, backwash the filter.<\/li><li>Adjust the pH of the water to between 7.2 and 7.6<\/li><li>Remove the ladder\/step system, store any remaining chemicals in a cool, dry place.<\/li><li>Inspect the pool for any repairs needed.<\/li><li>Add Winterate or Pool Closing Kit. Let pool circulate for at least 12 hours before closing.<\/li><li>Lower the water level to below the skimmer and top return jet.
